HOW WE STARTED

The Lizard quickly became a favorite with the "locals." Offering high quality food served in a friendly, unique atmosphere was the foundation of our "culture" and a way of doing business that has persevered for over 17 years.

Today, Winking Lizard, Inc., currently operates twelve restaurants with even higher standards of quality and execution than ever before. We continue to invest back into all aspects of our operations. The development of creative recipes, a beer list second to none and leading edge training programs continue to position the Lizard as an up and coming industry leader.

Future plans include concept expansion in geographically appealing markets throughout the Midwest. The opportunity for growth has never been better. If you are a success driven individual with ambition and foresight, we encourage you to secure your future with us as we grow.

GREAT AMERICAN FOOD

Although our award winning barbeque ribs and wings have been the cornerstone of our menu, our culinary expressions are reflected in all our food.

Our menu covers a wide variety of tastes and flavors. We offer selections such as pizza made with our own fresh dough, an old family recipe sauce, lizard style wings in 11 varieties, made from scratch soups, hickory smoked and slow roasted ribs, unique sandwiches and more.

We take pride in the execution of our kitchen procedures and standards. We have developed recipes that are simple, yet creative and work efficiently with our systems. This efficiency provides Great American Food at a great value without ever having to compromise the quality of what we serve. The results are delicious menu items and a great Lizard experience for our guests.

THE INFAMOUS WORLD TOUR

The World Tour of Beers began in 1985 with 40 beers on the list. If you finished, you were awarded a sweatshirt with all the names of the World Tour Beers printed on it. There was no rhyme or reason for the selection of beers other than the desire to get as many different countries represented as possible.

Over the years, the tour included more and more beers on the list. A jacket is now the prize instead of a sweatshirt. However, the emphasis was still on having a selection from different countries.

In 1996, the World Tour of Beers took a huge turn. The first World Tour Guidebook was written and the emphasis switched to obtaining as many styles of beer as possible on the World Tour list. The Winking Lizard is dedicated to obtaining the best possible beers in all categories of style. The newfound emphasis on quality and education has given the Winking Lizard Taverns a national presence in the premium beer market.

Today, when a guest signs up they receive a World Tour Guidebook and a list of 100 World Class Beers. They have the calendar year to drink all 100 beers. Upon completion, they will receive the coveted World Tour jacket and an invitation to a members only World Tour party. Additionally, throughout the year, Tour members are invited to different social events, such as beer and food tasting events, golf outings, field trips, and more.

OK Ruby Tuesday is always bad service. Know that before hand and you wont be disappointed. The things your talking about are all things you should have talk to a manager about. Then he/she should have comped the meal or atleast replaced it. If you didnt complain to them then you shouldnt complain now!
